Nursery

We have a delightful Nursery known as Little Acorns which can accommodate 20 children in any one session.  Our newly appointed manager Mrs Gemma Blumberger has a wealth of knowledge and experience and a real passion for Early Years.  She works alongside Mrs Clarke who is our EYFS Lead and Reception teacher.

We believe in learning through play and creating inspirational learning environments for young children to explore and enjoy - making the most of their natural curiosity.

We place great emphasis on learning to love books and literature - it is never too early to start developing those early reading skills.  Our curriculum is theme based and this often centres around a truly magical book.  Our Nursery children learn about 'Sowing and Growing', 'Superheroes', 'Traditional Tales' and many other topics which provide a broad and varied curriculum.  We also focus on acquisition of skills such as those associated with fine and gross motor function - learning to use scissors, make marks, develop pencil grip, ride a scooter etc.  We ensure that our Foundation One pupils are Reception ready as they move into the third term approaching their start to our lovely primary school.

Transition from Nursery to Reception is planned and prepared for and children get to know the Reception staff before they move across.  To find out more book a visit to Little Acorns.
